Romance makes the heart skip a bit and there is nothing that will boost your relationship like romance does. If you are going out on a date, it is time you stopped being so traditional and try out new ways of making the date romantic.
Take a Dance Class Together
Whether you choose a private class or a larger event, a dance class is a romantic date idea as it is an excuse to be affectionate in public with your loved one for an extended period of time. And since there are ample dance classes in North America these days due to all of the dance shows on TV recently (So You Think You Can Dance? and Dancing With the Stars are two that come to mind immediately), you should be able to find one that suits both of your tastes and pocketbook easily.
Do Dinner Differently
You’ve gone to dinner with your loved one countless times. Why not change dinner into a romantic evening by focusing instead on luxurious meals, tastings or events that cater to the sensual in all of us? Wine and cheese tastings, chocolate making company tours, and even beer breweries fall into this category. Better yet, take a class together to make your own spirits and then make plans to have a romantic date together to uncork your masterpiece.
If you want your date to be memorable then do something that is worth being remembered. The two of you can go out of town and rent bicycles. See how the two of you work together. You can also go to an art class to draw and make some pots. At the end of the day you will be smudged in clay as you both try to figure out what you were making.
Rent a bicycle for two.
Instead of any old biking excursion, rent a tandem bicycle for a chance to get in sync, practice teamwork, and yes, get some exercise in too.
Drunch, for the uninitiated, is a drunk brunch. Instead of sipping cocktails on a Saturday night, why not do it over eggs, French toast, and sunshine on a Saturday afternoon? Bloody Marys required, obviously.
Take a pottery class.
We may have watched Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze classic “Ghost” one too many times, but there’s something utterly romantic about getting a little messy and creating pottery together as a couple.
With the age of selfies why not go out in the night and take lots of photos in the process? The photos will serve as good old memories further more why just keep good memories to yourself? Cooking is also another activity you can indulge in during a date. This of course is after you have known each other for a good period of time to invite each other into your homes.
DOCUMENT THE NIGHT
Head to the pub around the corner, hit the coffee bar for dessert, or just grab takeout—but be sure to take plenty of fun, artsy or silly Instagram pictures. Not only will it create an awesome memory, but studies have shown that looking at photos of your significant other can make you feel even more connected to them, so find a favorite and print it out for your office.
VENTURE INTO THE KITCHEN
“We love Taco Tuesday and try different main meats and experiment with flavors,” says Chicagoan Erin G., 29. “It sounds simple, and we’ve got the prep-work down to a science, but because we don’t have to concentrate on the task at hand, we can really enjoy being with each other.”
